Living with Chronic Illness: Online Support in Indiana
Does this sound familiar?
You're tired of explaining your symptoms to people who can't see them
You miss the body, or the life, you had before
Appointments leave you anxious, dismissed, or drained
You're managing your health and a family (or a job) at the same time
You're still waiting on answers, and the not-knowing is exhausting in its own way
What we work on together
-
Therapy can't take your symptoms away, but it can change how much space they take up in the rest of your life. We'll work on pacing, self-compassion, and easing the emotional weight that makes hard days harder.
-
Flares, test results, and questions no one can answer yet are a lot to hold. We'll build ways to live with the unknown without putting your whole life on pause.
-
Being rushed, dismissed, or not believed leaves a mark. We'll talk through what's happened, including medical trauma, and help you feel steadier walking into your next appointment.
-
With doctors, family, or an employer, you deserve to be heard. We'll find the words, and the confidence, to ask for what you need.

Managing a chronic condition while pregnant or raising kids is a juggle that doesn't get nearly enough attention. With advanced training in perinatal mental health (PMH-C) and years working in OB settings, I know how heavy the fear, guilt, and exhaustion can get. Before private practice, I worked as a medical social worker in outpatient GI, a pain clinic, and OB. I saw how overwhelming and isolating it can be to move through the medical system without someone who gets it.
I also live with chronic illness myself. That means you won't have to spend your limited energy helping me understand what you’re going through. Meet Sylvia →

Therapy works best as a collaboration, and trust comes first. You don't need the right words. You can show up messy, uncertain, or not sure what you're feeling, and we'll figure it out together. I'm not a medical provider, and therapy doesn't replace your care team. It's a place to work on how you cope, feel, and live alongside your condition.
If you're in crisis, call or text 988. This practice isn't equipped for emergencies.
